Historical cuvee created in 1923 by grandparents Marie Louise and Alphonse Mayard.
A blend of different terroirs of the appellation, Clos du Calvaire is the expression of a pure and authentic Châteauneuf of the Pape, aged in vats and barrels for 12 months in order to respect the expression of the majority Grenache complemented by Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, and Counoise.
It is a wine full of pleasure and delicacy, with aromas of red and black fruits depending on the vintage. There is a fruity and floral palate complex with silky and persistent tannins.
